About Us
My name is Katie Leslie, and I am so excited that you are considering a doula for your birth!
I moved to Blacksburg in 1998 to attend Virginia Tech. I remained here for graduate school, during which I met my husband, Adam. Together, we decided that Blacksburg was the place we would call home!
Adam & I have a son, Campbell, born in September 2005 and a daughter, Sophie, born in March 2008. I am so fortunate to be able to pursue my professional goals as a doula and spend time at home with my children, too.
I am passionate about women's health, and I am commited to making each client's experience what she desires. I know from personal experience how important that is.

My name is Candice Matthis CD(DONA), and I believe that every woman should have an amazing birth experience!
My family and I moved to Christiansburg a little over two years ago when my husband, Lee, began his Chiropractic career. We love this community and area~ it is an amazing place to raise a family! We have two sons, Evan who was born in November 2002 and Garrett who was born in January 2005. We also have a daughter, Ella, who was born in June 2007. I also feel very blessed to have the opportunity to pursue my passion for being a doula and still be a full-time Mom!
I am committed to helping each woman obtain her goal in having an educated, empowered, and fulfilling birth experience. I truly believe that each woman deserves to have the birth experience that she desires. Having three children of my own, I know how powerful and amazing this experience is!
I received my Birth Doula certification through DONA in November 2010.
Katie and Candice met through the Montessori school that our children attend. Because of our passion for women's health, we were both quickly drawn to two new pregnant mothers. We immediately began talking about breastfeeding and, of course, childbirth. Within those first thirty minutes, we discovered our shared passion for natural childbirth and becoming a doula. Having someone to share that with was so exciting! We have since become great friends and tremendous supporters of one another. And so, Mother to Mother Doulas was born. We could not think of anyone we would rather embark on this journey with than one another!
